Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrival to Yerevan, airport pickup and transfer to one of the Yerevan hotels
  • Lunch/dinner/supper (depending on the arrival time) in one of the best Armenian restaurants (e.g. “Old Erivan”, “Mer Gyughe” — Our Village, or other)
  • City tour to the most remarkable spots of Yerevan - Republic Square and Singing Fountains, Cascade complex
  • Tour to the Matenadaran Armenian ancient manuscript repository
  • Tour to Yerevan Brandy Factory, tasting of Armenian legendary brandy
  • An interactive and adventure quest game in Yerevan city *

    * Rest at the hotel or an entertaining evening walk in the city are available as alternatives.

  • Overnight stay in the hotel

Day 2

  • Breakfast
  • Setting off to Amberd Fortress (9th century, located on 2.300 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Aragats), Aragatsotn region
  • Continuing trip to crater lake Kari 3200 m. above the sea level located among four peaks of Mount Aragats
  • Lunch at the local restaurant (traditional Armenian cuisine)
  • Setting off to village Garni, Kotayk region
  • Visiting the ancient pagan temple of Garni (1st century AD) Dinner in the local restaurant located on the Garni gorge bank (traditional Armenian cuisine)
  • Overnight stay in the local hotel or guest-house

Day 3

  • Breakfast
  • Setting off to Geghard Monastery (8th–12th centuries) included in UNESCO's World Heritage List
  • Setting off to mountainous freshwater lake Sevan (2000 m above sea level), Gegharkunik region
  • A little rest on lake shore to enjoy the view of breathtaking nature
  • Lunch (pollan fish barbeque, crawfish, beer, etc)
  • Enjoying lake cruise onboard a catamaran
  • Setting off to Dilijan city, Tavush region
  • Overnight stay in the local hotel

Day 4

Goshavanq Monastery
  • Breakfast
  • Setting off to Goshavank Monastery complex (12th century)
  • Setting off to the beautiful mountainous Lake Gosh located in the National Park of Dilijan, 2.5 km far from Goshavank. According to specialists the lake is more than 2000 years old.
  • A little rest on the lake shore
  • Picnic
  • Returning to Dilijan
  • Overnight stay in a hotel

Day 5

Noravank Monastery
  • Breakfast
  • Trip through Selim Pass

    * The Selim Caravansary was built along the Selim Pass in 1332 for accommodating weary travelers and their animals crossing the Selim (Sulema) Mountains. It is the best preserved caravansary in the country.

  • Sightseeing at Smbataberd Fortress (4th century)
  • Sightseeing at Noravank monastery complex (12th -13th centuries)
  • Lunch (village organic food) in an ancient cave in Noravank canyon
  • Setting off to Yeghegnadzor
  • Dinner
  • Overnight stay in hotel or boarding house

Day 6

  • Breakfast
  • Setting off to Zorats Karer («Armenian Stonehenge»), Syunik region
  • Trip to Tatev Monastery (9th century)
  • Lunch
  • Sightseeing at “Satani Kamurj” (Bridge of Devil)
  • Setting off to Areni village (Vayots Dzor region)
  • Tour to the Areni wine factory, wine degustation
  • Dinner (Armenian organic food)
  • Returning to Yerevan
  • Overnight stay in hotel

Day 7

  • Breakfast
  • City tour in Yerevan.
  • Visiting Erebuni Fortress*, Museum after Sergei Parajanov, etc.

    * Erebuni Fortress is a fortification and city in the ancient kingdom of Urartu, founded in the 8th century BC, located in today’s Yerevan. The name Yerevan itself derives from Erebuni.

  • Setting off to Etchmiadzin city.
  • Visiting the Mother See of Holy Etchimadzin (spiritual and administrative centre of Armenian Apostolic Church since 303 AD), Zvartnots temple included in UNESCO's World Heritage List
  • Returning to Yerevan
  • Goodbye party in restaurant
  • Departure from Yerevan
