Ararat Plain (7 days)

A classic 7-day tour in the heart of Armenia

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrival to Yerevan, airport pickup and transfer to one of the Yerevan hotels

Day 2

  • City tour in Yerevan
  • Trip to Lake Sevan, followed by a visit to Tsaghkadzor («Armenian Alps»)

Day 3

  • Visiting the ancient pagan temple of Garni
  • Sightseeing at the Geghard Monastery, included in the UNESCO's World Heritage List

Day 4

  • Setting off to the city of Etchmiadzin
  • Visiting the Mother See of Holy Etchimadzin, St. Gayane & St. Hripsime Churches and Zvartnots temple included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO
  • Visiting Ethnographic museum in Sardarapat

Day 5

  • Trip to Ashtarak
  • Visiting Hovhannavank and Saghmosavank Monasteries.
  • Sightseeing in the village of Oshakan, where St. Mesrop Mashtots — the creator of the Armenian alphabet is buried.

Day 6

Noravank Monastery
  • Trip to Khor Virap*

    * Khor Virap — a monastery built over the underground chamber where Grigor Lusavorich (St. Gregory the Illuminator), who converted Armenia from paganism to Christianity, was imprisoned for 13 years.

  • Visiting Areni village
  • Sightseeing in Noravank Monastery (13th century)

Day 7

  • Transfer to airport & departure
